You seem to have stumbled across my journal, Come blog. It was suggested to me that I should do YouTube videos. Not a chance.
So my name is Pete and in 2023 I took the decision to buy a narrow boat. It was that of a camper van. There were so many pros and cons to both, so I thought about it long and hard. The problem with camper vans is you’re at the mercy of other road users, which would effectively make you homeless if you had an accident. Whereas on a narrow boat, sure you have bumps, breakdowns etc., but you still have a home. So, after two years of looking for my boat, various trips to Marina’s to view boats, I found one, Nottingham. It met my requirements. OK. She was a little bit older than what I hoped for (1976) but she was well-maintained and in good condition.
Fast-forward to May 3rd 2025. I said farewell to some friends I made at the Marina and set off onto the Grand Union Canal, now fast-forward two months, and I am currently on the Oxford Canal heading south towards London. I’ll be using this blog to journal my days and weeks. I won’t post every day as the phone signal on the canal network is shockingly crap. There will be photos occasionally.
Over the next few weeks, being a new blog, I’ll try and add some posts from the past few months. As it’s Friday, have a great weekend!
