“You have arrived” well, almost! Passing through Caversham i realise my fuel is very low. Most boats dip their tanks and when i dipped mine it showed about 2 inches left. Having owned her for 6 months i’ve not learnt how far she will go with different levels. Hell i don’t even know the capacity and yes i have checked all the paperwork. So today i’ll be cruising at tick over to save the fuel.

As I entered Caversham the engine decided to splutter, clear sign of fuel starvation. I quickly pulled onto the pontoon of Reading Marine Services! Asked them about fuel to which they told me about one roughly a mile downstream. Urm I wont make that. They were kind enough to give me a lift to the nearest petrol station. Since when has a 5L jerry can been £10? Yep have to buy a jerry can. Can filled, I headed back. she started straight away. Now to see how long this lasts.

Coming into Reading centre the engine cut out 3 times before finally going back to normal. That will be the crap from the tank. Made it to a fuel point. Yippee that was a relief! Moored up at Tesco!, time to visit the cousin. Job done!!
